Six European partner universities from Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, Slovenia, Italy and Spain have launched an international survey on the use of Artificial Intelligence in higher education. The survey is addressed to academic staff, lecturers and researchers and aims to gather insights into how AI is currently being used in teaching and learning.
The purpose of the survey is to better understand existing practices, challenges, needs and institutional support related to AI use in higher education. As AI technologies are developing rapidly, educators across all disciplines are facing new expectations – adapting teaching methods, ensuring academic integrity, supporting students in responsible AI use, and balancing opportunities with potential risks. Capturing real experiences from higher education teachers is essential for developing meaningful and practical guidance.
The survey is still ongoing, and we have already received almost 400 responses from higher education teachers in 20 countries. We warmly invite additional participants to share their perspectives and contribute to this growing body of evidence.
The results of the survey will be used to develop evidence-based recommendations and practical resources to support responsible and effective integration of AI in universities across Europe. Completing the survey is anonymous and takes no more than 10 minutes.
